FAQ

The questions we hear most.

What does Vorana actually do?

Vorana sits between your apps and AI vendors. Every AI request flows through it — we check the inputs, optionally ground the answer in your data, score the response, apply policy, and capture the whole exchange for audit. Your apps don't change. Your AI bills get smaller.

How is this different from buying directly from OpenAI / Anthropic / Azure?

You still buy AI from them. Vorana doesn't replace your provider — it adds the reliability, cost, and compliance layer above them. You can mix vendors per use case, switch providers without touching app code, and keep one consistent audit trail across all of it.

How long does an implementation take?

Most teams are running their first pipeline in a week. A typical pilot — one use case, one tenant, one provider — takes two to four weeks end-to-end including security review.

Where does our data go?

Wherever you say. Vorana runs in your cloud, our cloud, or fully air-gapped. Data residency is configurable per tenant and per use case. We never train on your data — ever.

Do we have to switch AI vendors?

No. Vorana is vendor-neutral by design. Your existing contracts with Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, AWS Bedrock, or self-hosted models all keep working — Vorana just sits in front of them.

How does Vorana help with cost?

Three ways: caching repeated questions (savings show up immediately), routing easy questions to cheaper models (savings show up after a week of tuning), and per-team budgets that hard-cap spend (savings show up the moment a team would have overspent).

What about compliance — SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR?

Vorana is designed around the controls these frameworks require — tenancy boundaries, immutable audit, key management, data residency, redaction. Enterprise plans include the evidence package your auditors will ask for.

Can our developers extend it?

Yes. Custom checks, scoring, redaction, or routing logic can plug in without changing Vorana itself. Your platform team owns extensions; product teams just consume the same trust layer.

What happens if Vorana goes down?

The managed plan is multi-region with 99.9% / 99.99% SLAs. Self-hosted deployments scale horizontally with no central single-point-of-failure. We help you design the topology your business continuity team will sign off on.

Security

Designed for the controls your security team already cares about.

Tenant isolation

Every team, customer, or business unit is its own tenant. Data, policies, budgets, and keys stay separated by default.

Customer-managed keys

You own the encryption keys for your audit data. Rotate them on your schedule. Revoke them and the data is unreadable, instantly.

Data residency

Pick the regions per tenant or per use case. Vorana enforces routing — nothing leaves the boundary you draw.

Immutable audit

Every interaction captured to write-once storage. Replayable for incident review. Exportable for regulators.

PII & PHI handling

Detect and redact sensitive content before it leaves your perimeter. Vendors only see what your policies permit.

SSO & access

SAML and SCIM for enterprise plans. Role-based access in the admin console. Per-tenant audit of who saw what, when.
